I am a well-educated, intelligent and clever man with four university diplomas. I was a teacher of English and Spanish for a long time. I am a self-made man. About 27 years ago I started my own business, a small publishing house.

I have an artistic side, which I put to good use in my publishing business (writing, doing page layout work, taking photographs). I also used to play the drums, but I no longer do. My practical side, which is necessary for everyday life and to run a successful business, complements my artistic side.

I am of Mediterranean heritage and family life is very important for me. I am glad to see that I have that in common with practically all the women on this site who also claim that family comes first for them.

I am a polite, hardworking, kind, cheerful, honest, generous, mature, reliable, optimistic and well-balanced person. I am always in a good mood and I have a good sense of humour.

Between man and woman I believe in harmony, faithful relations, mutual respect, trust and supporting each other in life's ups and downs. I believe in making my woman a happier and better person than she would be without me because that makes me a happier and better person as well. I consider women the equivalent of men.

I have many interests which go from more intellectual activities (like going to the theatre/concerts, reading good books/magazines, going to art exhibitions, listening to a wide variety of music from classical to jazz, to pop to folkloric, etc) to more physical ones like playing tennis, bicycling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, swimming, going for long walks etc. I also like to watch good movies on my home theatre and occasionally watch some sports on TV when there are really big events like the European Football Champions League or the Football World Cup or the 4 Grand Slam Tennis Tournaments. Otherwise I rarely watch TV but I like to listen to the radio.

I speak four languages fluently (English, French, Spanish, Italian) and I am at the intermediate level in German. When I was a university student I had enrolled in a Russian course but I dropped it because I was learning too many languages at the same time and it was getting a little too much. If I had known that I would one day register at this site, I would have continued with my Russian course, since I have noticed that a lot of the women registered here speak Russian as well as Ukrainian.

I live in Montreal, a beautiful city in central Canada. It's a bilingual city (French and English) in the province of Quebec, which is the French speaking part of Canada. It's the ninth largest city in North America and the second largest French-speaking city in the world after Paris. We could say that the city is a real United Nations. It's a very ethnically diverse city with people from almost all the nations of the world (including of course the Ukraine and Russia). It's considered the most European city of North America, and per capita it has more restaurants than any other city except New York City, which is about a 1-hour flight from here. The city is an island, so there is always water nearby and it has a nice mountain in the middle where one can go walking, bicycling, picnicking and in the winter snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. About a one-hour drive from the city, the countryside is really beautiful with lots of lakes, rivers and mountains where one can enjoy fresh air and practice all kinds of summer and winter sports. Should you ever decide to visit me here you will certainly fall in love with the city.

Here is a bit of information about the Ukrainian community in Canada. In 2011, there were an estimated 1,209,000 persons of full or partial Ukrainian origin residing in Canada (mainly Canadian-born citizens) making them Canada's 9th largest ethnic group and giving Canada the world's third-largest Ukrainian population behind Ukraine itself and Russia. Canada's best hockey player of all-time, Wayne Gretzky was of Ukrainian origin!

There are about 500,000 persons of full or partial Russian origin residing in Canada.

I would like to meet a pretty, well-educated (BA, MA or PhD) and intelligent woman with whom I could share my life and achievements, someone who is an optimist, who is very honest, good-natured, who likes to spend time both in the city and at the countryside and who likes to travel. You must be a one-man woman, as I am a one-woman man.

Someone with whom to share regular daily life whether it be cooking something together while sipping a glass of good wine, watching a good movie sitting on the sofa, embracing and holding each other tightly, eating out in a romantic restaurant, going for a canoe ride on the lake, listening to music that we both like, watching the sunset on a beautiful beach, going to a museum, etc.
